Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Rockland operates an integrated management system including Health and Safety OHSAS 18001 Certification and Environment ISO 14001 Certification.
We plan the set-up locations of our plants to make sure we reduce vehicle movements as much as possible and, where possible, create drive-through aggregate bays to remove the need for delivery vehicles to reverse. We use CCTV cameras to monitor activities around the plant. Each mixer truck has high visibility numbering for easy identification; we utilise a Tannoy system to alert of any potential dangers and two-way radios for communication.
Our plants are set up to ensure people and vehicles are segregated. All our plant is CE marked and fully compliant with PUWER regulations. Our people are highly trained, and we have a policy and system in place to share best practice and continuous improvement.
We use additional cementitious materials and admixtures optimise cement content and reduce the embodied CO² of the concrete, while in turn reducing the overall consumption of water per cubic metre.
Rockland Concrete continually monitors the development of our sustainability procedures, to ensure our concrete products continue to produce the lowest carbon footprint possible.
